The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 17, beginning at 1:00 PM at Phalti Baptist Church.

Mr. Sears will be carried to his final rest by those honored to serve as pallbearers, including Flint Sears, Shannon Dunn, Craig Ramey, Tony Daley, Damon Reese, and Bobby Davis.

Norris was born on July 4, 1943, in Cass County, Texas to Ralph Noble and Eldaree Steed Sears. His parents would eventually settle in Brookhaven, where he spent his formative years and graduated from Brookhaven High School. Afterward, he attended Co-Lin Jr. College before going to work for the Bell South Telephone Company, where he dedicated nearly 40 years of his professional life serving as a technician. His unwavering commitment to his work and his community reflected his strong character and work ethic, traits that were admired by many.

In 1977, Norris and his wife Peggy began a new chapter in their lives by settling in Prentiss, where they raised their three sons. His family meant everything to him, and his sons will forever cherish the memories of a devoted father who supported them in all their endeavors. He was particularly proud to attend their sporting events, offering encouragement and enthusiasm from the sidelines.

Norris was a man of varied interests. In his younger years, he found joy in singing in a quartet at various churches, sharing his love for music with others. He also had a deep passion for the outdoors, particularly when it came to hunting and fishing. However, it was his prized horse, Grand Fox, that held a special place in his heart, representing his love for nature.

As time passed, one of his greatest joys became spending time with his grandchildren, creating memories that would be cherished by generations to come. In addition, the arrival of his great-grandchildren brought him immense happiness. Norris was a member of Phalti Baptist Church, where he and his wife had been devoted members for many years.  Among their involvement at Phalti, they especially enjoyed working with the Royal Ambassador youth group.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Sears is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Jane Sears, and his son, Shane Magee Sears.

He is survived by his sons, Flint Sears of Petal, Steed Sears (Jan) of Big Bay Lake; brother, Charles Ralph “Chuck” Sears of Atlanta, TX and his sister, Susan Sears Ratliff of Bassfield. The legacy of their Pawpaw will forever be cherished by his grandchildren, Dalton Slade Sears, Michael “Blake” Sears, Dr. Conner Noble Thomas, Dr. Logan LeeAnn Havard and his great-grandchildren, Riley, Shane, and Millie.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Phalti Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 889 Clem Road, Prentiss, MS  39474
