Warren R Nutto, age 87, of Hackettstown died Friday, April 18, 2025 at Newton Memorial Hospital of Newton, NJ. Warren was born June 19, 1937 in Montclair, NJ. He is the son of the late Rinehart and Helen (Jensen) Nutto. He married Joan Potter.
He was born in Montclair, NJ, lived in Fairfield, NJ before moving to Hackettstown NJ 51 years ago. After graduating high school, Warren served in the United States Army in 1955 before returning home. He married the love of his love and worked as a head grower for several large greenhouses and garden centers over the next 35 years. He then managed his own landscaping business for 10 years before retiring at the age of 80.
Warren was a dedicated and passionate hunter, also known for his unwavering love of fishing and gardening. He was a true outdoorsman and a longtime member of the Allamuchy Gun Club. Warren always found joy in the wilderness and had a deep respect for nature.
Warren is survived by, his beloved wife of 64 years of Joan Nutto (nee Potter); father of Michael Nutto and Cherie Bruce (nee Nutto); grandfather to Kaitlynne; father-in-law to Vira Nutto and David Bruce, brother to the late Joan and Hank Skwarski, as well as may nieces, nephews and other beloved family members and friends. He will be missed by all.
Calling hours will be Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 5 pm -7 pm with a prayer service beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Cochran Funeral Home, Inc., 905 High Street, Hackettstown, N.J.
A graveside service will be held 10:00 am on Friday, April 25, 2025 at Pequest Union Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Great Meadows, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donation to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memorial & Honor Program, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942, www.stjude.org would be graciously appreciated.
