Charles Nyle Randall quietly passed away at age 81, February 7, 2026, in Idaho Falls, ID after battling Alzheimer’s Disease for many years. Born October 14, 1944, Nyle grew up on the Grant family farm with his parents Charles Milton and Violet Oswald Randall. He joined sisters Geraldine and Gayle and was a big brother to Gary.

Nyle graduated from Rigby High School, where he participated in sports, FFA, and leadership. He attended BYU Provo for one year before serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Northern Indian Mission from 1963–65. After returning to BYU, he met his sweetheart of sixty years, JoAnn Kinghorn. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1966.

Following graduation from BYU, his love of the Lamanite people guided his decision to earn a Masters of Social Work from the University of Utah, preparing him to be employed by LDS Social Services. He worked hard for the youth in the Indian Student Placement Program and assisted in adoptions. Nyle became an effective family counselor and later had a private practice.

Nyle moved his family back to the Grant farm following years of living in Las Vegas, Nevada; Farmington, New Mexico; and Snowflake, Arizona. “You can take the boy out of the farm, but you can’t take the farm out of the boy.” So, on the side of his social work employment, he proudly put his NR brand on a herd of Beefmaster mother cows. Farming to produce feed for the cattle gave his children an opportunity to learn hard work and responsibility.

Nyle was always committed to his callings in the Church. He had a natural ability to lead and served faithfully as bishop, stake presidency member, Menan Stake Patriarch, and ordinance worker in the Idaho Falls Temple. In 2007–08, Nyle and JoAnn served a mission in a pilot program, offering mental health support for 31 missions in the North and Southeast Areas of the United States and Canada. A few years later, they returned to the East Coast as ordinance workers in the Washington D.C. Temple Mission.

Nyle and JoAnn are parents of ten children: Carissa (Randy) Heaps, Dawn (David) Marlowe, Jared (Becky) Randall, all of Idaho Falls; Joshua (Liz) Randall of Centerville, Utah; Shanna (Bart) Stratton of La Canada, CA; Micah (Andrea) Randall of Kuna, ID; Suzanne (Jeremiah) Burnett, Mt. Home, ID; Luke (Jill) Randall of Meridian, ID; Jesse (Ashley) Randall of Puerto Rico; Rebekah (Matt) Bell of Grant, ID. Nyle often said, “Our children are the most important thing we ever did!” He dearly loved his 66 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

Nyle was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Violet Randall; a sister, Gayle Ball; two sons-in-law, David Marlowe and Randy Heaps; and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Randall.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 28, 2026, at noon in the Grant Church, 3431 E 100 N, Rigby, ID 83442. Viewings will be held on Friday from 6-8 pm at the Grant Church and prior to the service on Saturday from 10-11:30 am. Interment will follow at the Grant Central Cemetery.

The Randall Family appreciates the loving attention and kindness given by the nurses and staff of Reflections at Morningstar, and Heritage Hospice.
