Nyle Yates Obituary

I knew his first name was Nyle. I knew he was the III. I knew his home town. At one point, long ago, I knew his birthday, his enlistment date, his assignment date, and even his social. But all that was just the info one knows about all the soldiers that serve under their command. To me he was always "Yates". He was my most trusted, favorite soldier and my love for him knows no bounds. The outside world calls him a hero for his sacrifice. To those of us that know him he was a hero for his unrelentingly perfect impact on our everyday life. He was a hero for his joy. For his friendship. For his righteousness. For his charity. For his loyalty. May God bless and keep you my friend. I think of you everyday. I love you. -PMC

We served together in Samarra Iraq and went RR at the same time just before Christmas. We miss you, love you, and thank you for everything you did for us here. Nyle was as strong as they came and is still my inspiration today. Rakkasan!

I will never forget Nyles name or the day of his funeral. It was that day that changed my life. I found it such a moving experiance, that I felt every Veteran deserved an honorable send off by the communitee. Now I am a Ride Captain in my county, a trustee on the Michigan Patriot Guard board, a Road Captain for our local Legion Riders, and the Historian and an actice member to our American Legion. Finding my knitch in helping and serving our veterans has become my passion. Thank you for inviting the Patriot Guard for that day. I'm sure I wasn't the only one inpacted outside the church that day.

Although I did not know Nyle, my heart goes out to your family. My fiancee Acrivos was a friend of his and I know that he thought highly of Nyle. Mike talked about him alot. He seemed like a great person and I wish I would have had the honor to meet him. I have seen his myspace and I read every comment posted on there and viewed the pictures and I felt so sad and depressed for his friends and family that I cried. I really hope the best for you all and I know that you are all in my prayers. Just remember he is heaven..and I know that hes happy.

To the Yates family; I previously signed Nyle's guest book. I didn't know Nyle, but my heart was touched by the moving tribute to him. From the most inner part of my heart I am so sorry Nyle was taken from you. I am not ashamed to share with you that while viewing the tribute I cried for your loss. I don't see crying as a sign of weakness but that of a caring sole and I truly care. I am so sorry, but know one day you will see him again and I believe too one day I will have a chance to meet him and thank him.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

Cpl. Yates, we were in the same battalion, you were in B co., and I was in C co. You were good friends with my friends and played poker with them a few times. We never talked but I knew you and saw you many of times. We were on the same R&R trip. I just had to pay my respect as a former soldier on this memorial day. You made the ultimate sacrifice.

It is so hard to have another family enter into a growing kinship of those who have lost a loved one in operation iraqi freedom...my deepest sympathies to the yates family. I didn't know your son...but I do know, with painful clarity, what you are going through. My fiancee dane carver was KIA on 26 Dec 05...and Nyle joins him in that part of heaven reserved for the angels who have given their lives in sacrifice for the greater good of others. We will always honor their memory and be proud of what they have done. If there's anything I can ever do...please let me know.

The soldiers of Michigan have paid a tremendous price for the Iraqi freedom movement.

My son.Spc.Dane Carver told me he felt good about what we were doing over there.So,I have honored his request and hold the soldiers high.I know this pain though that the family of young Nyles Yates feels.If there is anything I can do I would gladly help.We honor the committment Cpl.Nyles yates had made and realize by his great sacrifice we are a great free nation.I owe Him so much, a debt I can never pay.Thank God for great brave men from Michigan.I missed his funeral and that saddens me but I won't miss HIm in Heaven..Dane always told me"we're a family over there Dad"...I realize it more and more.....

I didn't know nyle as much as others but my brother was good friends with him. Nyle was an awesome person. He had the biggest heart a guy could ever have. He could also make anyone laugh. My brother lost his son, April 29, 2005 in Baghdag from an IED. It has been a very hard year for him and his family, but as time passes, he speaks of Charles with pride and a tear, but also knows that his where Charles wanted to be. I know that does not make it any easier, but know that Nyle is loved by all, he was fighting for our freedoms and you as his family are brave souls too. Nyle was a very brave soldier as they all are. He is in the lords hand now and he will forever watching over you. They are angels of God. Thank you Nyle and Yates family for your bravery.

My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courgeous young man who gave his life so selflessly. We lost our son 12/1/05.

I know first hand there are no words right now that will bring you the comfort and peace you need. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you mourn this loss. We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with. They will never be forgotten, never able to be replaced, but sometime, someday your memories will sustain you. This courageous soldier will forever now be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
