Oren Dennis Campbell of Clinton, South Carolina entered his eternal home in Heaven on Monday September 8, 2025 at the Hospice House in Clinton, South Carolina.

Born on August 18, 1946, in Union, South Carolina, Dennis was the beloved only child of Mr. and Mrs. Oren Jackson Campbell.

Dennis was an honor graduate of Union High School. He graduated from Newberry College where he was recommended for additional studies in Spain which he declined. He was also a graduate of The School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University and the ABA Graduate School of Bank Investments and Financial Management at the University of Colorado. He attended numerous seminars and trainings sponsored by Independent Bankers Association of America (IBAA), South Carolina Bankers Association (SCBA), and American Bankers Association (ABA).

Dennis taught one semester at Union High School before joining Arthur State Bank in 1969. His duties included those of Assistant Head Teller, Head Teller, Assistant Cashier, Cashier and Loan Officer, Vice President and Trust Officer, and Senior Vice President. In 1986 he was elected to the Board of Directors.

A man of strong faith Dennis was a faithful servant of each church of which he was a member. He shared his love for God's Word by serving as adult teacher, youth teacher, study course teacher, Brotherhood Director, RA Director, AWANA Leader, deacon, chairman of the deacons, and on all financial committees of his churches including church trustee. He also served on various committees of the Union County Baptist Association. He served with Young Life and the Billy Graham Films Committees. Currently, as a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Dennis served as Elder, Mission Team member, and Treasurer.

Dennis was deeply committed to his hometown of Union. Some of his community activities included: serving as President of the Union County Chamber of Commerce, President of the American Red Cross, Board Member of the Salvation Army, President of the United Way of Union County, and President of the Union Rotary Club. As president of the Rotary Club Dennis organized the Rotary UHS Dinner Theater with the support of Ralph Lawson, Chairman of the Drama Department and with the support of his daughter Anne-Jackson he organized the Interact Club at Union High School. He was also a Paul Harris Fellow.

Dennis was recognized by many groups for his service. These recognitions include: The Union County Jaycees Distinguished Service Award, Rotarian of the Year, Honorary Thespian Union High School Troupe #1537, as well as many certificates of appreciation.

Dennis participated in the activities in which his two daughters took part. These included Brownies, Girl Scouts, UHS Band, the Wilbur F. Smith Invitational treasurer, PTA officer, church youth group activities, and any other activity he was asked to do. He even completed the requirements for his commercial driver's license (CDL) so he could drive a bus for the Sting Machine Marching Band.

Dennis served as District Chairman of the United States Selective Service System for twenty years.

He was married to Kathryn (Kathy), daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Wallace Lawson. They would have celebrated their fifty-seventh wedding anniversary in December.

Dennis was a devoted Christian, husband, father, and grandfather. He will be remembered for his mission-minded spirit, servant heart, kindness, grace, steadfast love, and of course his witty personality. He taught his family how to live by faith, extend forgiveness, and show compassion to others.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughters, Mary-Wallace Riley (Alex) and Anne-Jackson Jeffcoat (Jonathan), and his beloved grandchildren Daniel (fiancée Angel) and Lydia Riley.

Rev. Chad Reynolds will lead a worship service celebrating Dennis' healing and wholeness at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Sunday September 14th at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends after the service followed by burial at Union Memorial Gardens.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the members of Westminster Presbyterian Church for their many expressions of love and care through prayers, visits, meals, and thoughtful cards. This gratitude also extends to their family and friends whose encouragement and prayers have sustained them throughout this journey. They also send their sincere gratitude to the many physicians, nurses, and medical staff whose dedicated care and compassion have supported Dennis throughout the years.
