O.D. Martin, age 79, died Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at his home in Bloomfield, MO.
Born July 10, 1945, near Canalou, MO, to the late Lottie Brookshire, he had lived in Sikeston a number of years before moving to Bloomfield over 30 years ago. He was a longtime employee of BMU in Sikeston until his retirement. O.D. was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Morehouse and loved to fish, hunt and tinker with all kinds of equipment and vehicles.
On July 3, 1965, he married Beverly Lindsey, and she survives of the home.
Also surviving are his sons, Dean Arnold (Diane Newcomb) Martin of Miner, Paul David (Angela) Martin of Bloomfield and Jeff (Lynda) Martin of Bloomfield; his grandchildren, Cody (Kodie) Martin, Ashley (Jarryd) Christner, Kristin (Zach) Norman, Bryce Martin, Waylin (Madison) Martin, Hunter Martin, Addison Martin, Chelsey Bechtold and Brandon Bechtold; 11 great grandchildren; his sister, Linda Darlene Brookshire of Sikeston; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, L.C. Martin and his sisters, Annabelle Raines and Carolyn Fodge.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Morehouse Assembly of God Church in Morehouse, MO. Rev. Terry Scott, pastor will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home of Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be his sons and grandchildren.
