Oat Baccam Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hubbell Funeral Home & Crematory on Dec. 6, 2025.
Oat Baccam
January 1, 1950 - December 4, 2025
Oat Baccam, 75, formerly of Mount Pleasant, IA, passed away with family by his side on Thursday, December 4th, 2025, in Clearwater, FL.
Oat was born on January 1st, 1950, in Son La, Vietnam, the son of Vuong and Som Baccam. In 1972, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Thuan in Laos. The couple immigrated to Mount Pleasant, IA in 1975 where they raised their three children, Anousak (Pepsi), James and Christy.
Oat was a dedicated husband, father and sincere friend to those close to him. There wasn't a family remember who didn't feel his love or a stranger that didn't feel a connection after meeting him. His kindness, compassion and generosity left a lasting mark on the lives of those he touched. During his free time, Oat enjoyed hunting, fishing, thrift shopping at garage sales, traveling the world and spending time with friends and family - especially doting on his grandchildren.
Oat is survived by his wife, Thuan, son Anousak (Pepsi) and his wife Kari of Suwanee, GA; son James and his wife Keo of Marietta, GA; daughter Christy
Baccam-West and her husband Josh of Azle, TX. Grandchildren: Krishna, Nolan, Evelyn and Kyle. Brothers: Sang Baccam and Viengsack Baccam. Sisters: Vongthong Bitting and Vongkham Tuazon. Along with many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Thien Baccam, Choun Baccam and Keith Baccam. And two sisters: Xuan Baccam and Bock Babcock.
Oat's visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 7th, 2025, at the Hubbell Funeral Home in Belleair Bluffs, FL. His burial and final resting place will be held at a later date in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mount Pleasant, IA.
