Obelia Montez Perez

Obelia Montez Perez, 78, of Farmersville, Texas, passed away Monday, June 2, 2025, at the Lexington Medical Lodge in Farmersville. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Williams Catholic Church with Father Javier Diaz officiating. A rosary will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Caddo Mills I. O. O. F. Cemetery.

Obelia was born May 22, 1947, in Kenedy, Texas, to Tomas Perez and Guadalupe Montez. She worked with Shirey's as a seamstress and was a forklift driver for Rubbermaid until her retirement. She was a member of St. Williams Catholic Church.

Obelia is survived by her brothers, John Perez, Manuel Perez, Celestino Perez; sisters, Juanita Reyes, Tele Young, Carolina Perez, Sylvia Perez; sisters-in-law, Bernice Hunt, Cathey Vison; Grandson, Joshua Porter; and great-grandchildren, Trinity Porter and Josua Porter.

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Rita Jo Vinson; and brothers, Tom Perez and Alvino Perez.
