“Odelia Chavez, age 77, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and devoted follower of Christ, went home to be with her Lord on March 12, 2026. Her life was a beautiful reflection of her faith, kindness, and unconditional love. She lived a life of faith, often reflecting on II Timothy 4:7. She is preceded in death by her son, Gabriel Chavez, and parents, Frank and Rita Luna. She is now reunited with them in Heaven. Her legacy lives on through her daughter and grandchildren, whom she taught to love the Lord. She left behind the love of her life, Larry Chavez, of 58 years. She also leaves behind her only daughter, Angela Gabaldon, and son-in-law, Zeke Gabaldon, and their children: Jasmine, Chris, Kathryn, Ashlynn, and Geriah. Great-granddaughters Aizlynn and Layla. Odelia will be remembered for her compassionate and loving devotion to her family. She was the heart of our family—her kitchen always filled with warmth, stories, and the smell of her fresh-cooked meals. She enjoyed spending time in the yard gardening with her husband. She taught us patience, kindness, and the importance of laughter. She cared for everyone deeply and made a special effort to convey her affection to others, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always ready to help anyone in need. She always had so much love to offer and always had a positive outlook on life. Most of all, she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all her heart.”
