Odell Melvin Wilson, Sr. of Abilene passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025.
Funeral Services will be held at University Church of Christ 10:00 AM Saturday, February 22, 2025. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025, 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM at University Church of Christ.
Odell Melvin Wilson, Sr, of Abilene, TX at the tender age of 53 transitioned on February 15, 2025. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Odell and Yvonne Wilson. He graduated from Sarah T. Reed High School in New Orleans, Louisiana.
On December 3, 1994, Odell and Dionne Thompson were joined in holy matrimony, of this union, two sons Odell Jr and Douglas (Shaina) Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Odell G. Wilson, his paternal grandparents, Prince Wilson and Hattie Pearl Wilson; his maternal grandparents Warren Atkins and Mildred Carter, and his granddogs Sandy and Bubbles.
Odell leaves to cherish memories; his loving wife of 30 years, Dionne Wilson, two sons Odell Jr and Douglas (Shaina) Wilson, two sisters Renee Erwing and Otia Bowie; in laws Douglas Melancon and Wilson (Breeda) Thompson and a host family and friends. Services entrusted to North's Funeral Home.

Hello Dionne Wilson, You and your family have my deepest condolence. I am just hearing about the homegoing celebration of your husband, my old classmate of class of 89. He never met a stranger. He will be missed. I am sorry for your loss, I will be praying for strength, peace, and comfort for you and your family. I am glad to have known Odell Melvin Wilson , I realize that you have lost a special person. I like to believe that when we lose someone close to us they still live through us and give us strength. The time we spent with those we've lost makes them part of us. Please accept my deepest condolence and know that God loves you all and can give you all peace, restore your spirits and strengthen you all. May God continue on blessing you all.
