Odis Barrett, age 87, of Hiawassee passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024. Odis was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred and Mae (Canup) Barrett on March 18, 1936 in Hiawassee, Georgia. He was a member at Union Hill Methodist Church. He married his childhood sweetheart Mrs. Jane Jackson and spent sixty one years as her devoted and loving husband; they were best friends and did everything together. Odis worked for McTavish Furniture for over thirty five years and had his own little furniture store "Friendship Community Store '' for over fifty years. After retiring he enjoyed working in his garden, fishing and doing a little woodwork. He loved his two cats Peewee and Whitey. Odis was a loving and proud husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Odis is preceded in death by his above-mentioned parents and brothers Thomas Barrett and Guy Barrett. He leaves behind his wife, Jane Barrett; daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Bobby Durham, Belinda and Mike Weggant; son and son-in-law, Steven and Luis Barrett; brothers, James Barrett; sisters, Fannie Rogers, Shirley Nichols, grandchildren Donnie Ledford, Jason Finch along with ten great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers: Hunter Ledford, Isaiah Ledford, Blake Jackson, Hayden Nalley, Tristan Nalley and Levi Finch
Honorary: Donnie Ledford and Jason Finch.

Funeral:Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 2:00PM at Banister-Cooper Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Youngblood officiating.
Interment: Burch Cemetery
