Ofelia Ortega Obituary
Born in Malabon, Philippines, she settled into Toms River, NJ 40 years ago. Ofie was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Complete Care at Bey Lea for 30 years, as well as a dedicated parishioner of both St. Joseph and St. Luke's RC Church. Ofie had a deep and dedicated faith, often praying on the behalf of others who often sought her out for spiritual advice and guidance.
She is reunited in Heaven with her parents Simeon and Teodora (Trinidad) Reyes, and her sisters Zenaida Teodoro and Rosita Reyes.
Ofie will be forever held and cherished in the hearts of her loving family: her husband of 68 years Jun V. Ortega, Jr., daughter Joji and her husband Mark Babuschak, daughter Jean and her husband Jimmy Tranquilino, daughter Jo-Anne and her husband Jerry Lalo, her brothers: Manolitio Reyes, Narsiso Reyes, and Danilo Reyes, her sisters: Estelita Guevarra, Carmelita Reyes, and Gloria Reyes, six grandchildren: RJ (Genvieve), Jimbo (Megan), Jared (Susie), Justine (TJ), Jerinne, and Jeric, and ten great grandchildren.
The family will receive relatives and friends for a Memorial Gathering to celebrate Ofie's life on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 5pm to 7pm at the Carmona Bolen Home for Funerals, 412 Main St., Toms River, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 9am at St. Joseph RC Church, 658 Hooper Ave., Toms River, NJ.
