Dannie Ray Shelton, 64, of Hot Springs, Arkansas passed away February 19, 2024 surrounded by the ones he loved. He was born August 24, 1959 in Hot Springs, AR, to Donnie and Barbara Shelton.
Dannie was preceded in death by his parents and his dog squirrel whom he loved like a 3rd child.
Survivors include his daughter Ashley Shelton (Stephen); son Daniel Shelton; siblings Ricky Shelton, Kenneth Shelton (Judy) Debbie Mayfield (Ron), Berry Sutton (Teresa), Garry Sutton, Jeffrey Vincent; grandchildren Brooklynn Freeman, Boston Freeman and Jaidyn Freeman.
Dannie spent most of his working career Owning/Operating Dannies Carpet Service until he retired in the early 2000s where he then took on the "hard job" of holding the recliner down so it didn't go anywhere, with the last 11 years of his life spent with the job title of "Pawpaw" which he took very seriously and was the absolute best at.
Thanks to the Lakewood Nursing and Rehab staff and Elite Hospice of Hot Springs, with a special thanks to Shea with Elite Hospice who made his transition just a little easier on him and his daughter. For that his family is forever grateful.
A celebration of Dannie's life will be 1:00 PM Tuesday at Caruth-Hale Life Celebration Center located at 2529 Airport Road with Terry Williams officiating.
