James Murrell Sheets, 83, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, was called home by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 6, 2025, and was joyfully reunited in heaven with his beloved wife of 64 years, Beverly. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Murrell lived a life marked by faith, integrity, and unwavering love for his family.
Born on September 19, 1941, to Fred and Zella Sheets, Murrell was a man of quiet strength and steady character. He was the proud co-owner of Dollar Sheet Metal, where his strong work ethic and dedication left a lasting impression on all who worked alongside him.
Murrell was a faithful member of Hot Springs Baptist Church and lived out his beliefs with humility and grace. He found joy in life's simple pleasures - Saturday morning breakfasts, motorcycle rides, and traveling with the family to Disney World and Branson.
He was the kind of person everyone hopes to have in their life, the one you could count on at any hour. Whether it was day or night, if you needed help, Murrell would be there, without hesitation, and without expecting anything in return.
He loved his family above all and took great pride in his role as "Papa" to his grandchildren: Amy and Justyn Payne, Chloe Sheets, Abigail Sheets, Emily Sheets, Hezekiah Heard, and Hadassah Heard.
Murrell is survived by his three children: Jeffrey and Beth Sheets, Gregory and Becky Sheets, and Jil'Lana and Dustin Heard; his brothers Wayne and Gwen Sheets, and Glenn and Rebecca Sheets. He will be dearly missed by a multitude of nieces and nephews, including Sara Sheets, Eric Sheets, Lyndolyn Stuart, Lance Sheets, Todd Merriott, Sean Merriott, Zach Newcomb, Clay Newcomb, and Tyler Newcomb, among many others whose lives he touched.
Pallbearers are Roy Moran, Mike Thorpe, Zach Newcomb, Clay Newcomb, Greg Smith, and Steve Gonzalez.
Honorary pallbearers include Eric Sheets, Tyler Newcomb, Todd Merriott, Sean Merriott, Burt Woodall, Benny Arego, Ernie Patten, Larry Hill, Eldridge Prince, Charles Massey, Jim Hardage, David Carter, Tom Glover, Dean Stafford, and Noah Williams.
A celebration of Murrell's life will be held at the Caruth-Hale Life Celebration Center, beginning with visitation on Thursday, June 12, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., and continuing with a Celebration of Life service on Friday, June 13, at 10:00 a.m., with burial to follow at Oma Cemetery.

Soo sorry to hear of Murrell´s passing, he was one of the first business men I met when moving to HS in 1983.
He spent countless hours at NPMC (AMI) working on our mechanical systems, kitchen ventilation, etc..
On many occasions he and his crew would work from Fri evening until early hours of Monday morning for us doing major construction so we could continue with surgery first thing Monday morning.
Over the 39 years I worked with him we developed a special friendship that I will always cherish.
Sincerely, Noah
