Richard Charles Goodwin Jr. "Richard", 83, of Panama City, FL went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.
Richard was a member of Living Spirit Community Church. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting but most of all he was a humble servant of the Lord and always telling others about Jesus. He loved to share the fruits of his labor of gardening, fishing, and hunting with others. He was the greatest father that his children could ask for. Richard always kept the love of his life, France (his baby), fresh flowers.
He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Goodwin Sr and mother, Vera Mae Broxton Goodwin; brother, Sidney Charles Goodwin (Mickey); sister, Betty Sue Smith; cherished daughter, Rose Marie Davis (Harvey Sr.); and great-grandson, Jacob David Gurganus.
Those left to cherish Richard's memory include his loving wife of 65 years, Frances Jean Goodwin; two daughters, Julie Gurganus (husband David) and Christina White (husband Freddie); three sons, Richard "Pedro" Goodwin III (wife Libby), Chris Goodwin (Rhonda), and Shane Goodwin (wife Tammy); fifteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; siblings, Mary Majka (Jim), Roger Goodwin (Bessy), Lee Goodwin (Chingfin), Jerry Goodwin and Steve Goodwin; very special friend and brother in law, Edward Hill; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and an abundance of friends.
Funeral services will begin 11:00 A.M., Monday, February 19, 2024 at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. David Gurganus, Rev. Dewayne Worley and Rev. Matthew Walters officiating. The family will receive friends beginning 10:00 A.M. until service time. Interment will follow at Callaway Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Dustin Worley, Michael Goodwin, Richard Goodwin, Christopher Goodwin, Harvey Davis Jr. and Freddie White. Honorary Pallbearers are Aaron Raffield, Deven Beaumont and Edward Hill.
