Ola Mae Loosier- Bowdoin, of Waco, passed away on January 16, 2026. She blessed this world with her love, strength, and unwavering faith for 96 years. She was born on December 23, 1929, in Bynum, Texas to Emil and Hulda Schmidt. Our family is profoundly grateful that she passed peacefully and walked straight into the arms of her Savior, Jesus.
Mae brought laughter, joy, wisdom, and comfort to everyone around her. As a grandmother – our beloved Meme – she believed deeply in the importance of showing up. She attended every school performance she could, cheered from every auditorium seat, and wasn’t afraid to offer discipline when it was needed. Mae shared stories of picking cotton, running her church bus route, and the many ways God carried her through life.
She loved the Lord with all her heart and the Texas Rangers right behind Him. Having lived through the Great Depression and raising two children, Mae embodied resilience. We know God used her to plant seeds of faith in countless people, and she never hesitated to speak her mind with honesty and conviction.
Mae was the last surviving sibling of eight. She was preceded in death by her husbands – her first love, Rufus Loosier, as well as Lamar Lambert and Billy Bowdoin.
She is survived by her son and daughter – in – law, Russell and Jan Loosier, and her daughter and son – in – law, Judy and Lonnie Hollaway. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Justin Loosier, Heather Waller (Josh), Kimberly Brown (Kevin), along with their families. Mae was blessed with two great-grandchildren, Maci and Landon Waller, who brought immense joy.
We love her deeply, and we will miss her profoundly. Yet we rejoice knowing she is in heaven: whole, radiant, and filled with joy in the presence of God, reunited with her loved ones.
