MRS. OLA MAE GARNETT POLLARD, age 86, of 3182 Johnson Drive, Appling, GA passed on Saturday, August 9th, 2025. Family members and friends may call at the funeral home. THOMSON FUNERAL SYSTEM, Thomson, GA oversees all arrangements.

MRS. OLA MAE P. GARNETT departed this life on Saturday, August 9, 2025. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Pollard, Sr.; her son, Bennie Pollard, Jr.; her parents, George and Nellie Garnett, and a brother, George Ebenezer Garnett.

She was born in Appling (Columbia County), Georgia on Monday, October 3, 1938. Ola Mae was baptized at an early age at the Spring Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Appling, Georgia where she served faithfully under the leadership of Rev. Sylvester D. Bing. She was the current Mother of the church, and she also served on the Senior Choir. During her employment years, she worked for the Columbia County Board of Education and retired after 40 years of dedicated service.

Our dearly departed Ola Mae leaves a lifetime of precious memories to be forever cherished by those she leaves behind: four loving and devoted children, Bobby (O'Retha) Pollard of Grovetown, Georgia, Angela Harrison of Appling, Georgia, Sherry Pollard of North Augusta, South Carolina and James Pollard, Sr. of Augusta, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Felicia (Rodreco) Pollard, Bernard Pollard, Dinah (OJ) Cote, Jamar Harrison, Heather Pollard, James Pollard Jr., Nesha Pollard and Ryah Pollard; four great-grandchildren, Taylor (Sharnard) Harris, Madison Luke, Hayden Luke and Ina Cote; four devoted siblings, Emmie Dent of Appling, Georgia, Mary Garnett of Augusta, Georgia, Martha Luke of Appling, Georgia and Johnny Garnett of Augusta, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
