He was preceded in death by his father, Hendrik (Henk) van der Veen. He is survived by his mother, Wilhelmina (Wil) van der Veen - Boone; son, Owen van der Veen; Owen's mother, Tanya van der Veen: brother, Roelant van der Veen; sister in law, Eipke van der Veen - Kok; niece, Sam van der Veen; nephew, Boaz van der Veen and great nephew, Daan Reichardt.
There will be a private gathering of immediate family and close friends at Blain cemetery where he will be laid to rest. The Reverend Henry DeMoor will officiate.
