Oleta Blue Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Langley Funeral Home - Camp Hill on Mar. 11, 2025.
Mrs. Oleta Davis Blue, 89, of Jackson's Gap, Alabama, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025 at her residence. Born on February 29, 1936, she was the daughter of Mr. Russie O. Davis and Mrs. Carline White Davis. Leta, as she was known by her friends and family, was a woman of great tenacity and resilience. Her strong personality made her a memorable person to anyone that met her, and her sheer determination fueled her ambitions in life. There wasn't anything that she couldn't accomplish if she set her mind to it, and she was always guaranteed to finish what she started.
She showed no fear when going back to school to earn her Bachelor's degree in Literature while also caring for her family and home. In her spare time, Leta enjoyed challenging her mind further with crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy. Her family looked forward to anything that she would cook or bake because it was sure to be delicious. Nothing brought her more joy than being with her family whom she adored. She was a loving wife, mother, "grandmama," sister, aunt, and friend. Her unique personality and heart of gold will be missed by all that knew her.
Leta is survived by husband of 66 years, Basil M. Blue; sons, Russie Thomas (Linda) Blue, John Christopher (Crystal) Blue; grandchildren, Laura Kathryn Blue, Mitchell Andrew (Ashton) Blue, Russie Taylor (Erin) Blue, Cora Leann Blue; great-grandson, Finley Basil Blue; sister-in-law, Jean Davis; nieces and nephews, Tom Blue, Katie (Mike) Gillam, Steve (Katie) Davis; great-niece, Hannah Gillam; close family friend, Cecilia Blue; and special caregivers, Matt & Laura Moseley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Russie & Carline Davis; and brothers, Wyatt Davis & Gilbert Davis.
The family will hold a private service at a later date.
