Oletha Troublefield Obituary
Mt. Olive - Reverend Oletha S. Troublefield, 91 ascended into the arms of Jesus Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at her home.
She was born on June 17, 1932, in Sampson County, NC to the parentage of the late Clyde Davis Smith and Rosie Mae Faison Smith.
Reverend Troublefield attended Sampson County Training School in Clinton, NC. She graduated from high school and furthered her education at Fayetteville State College, now Fayetteville State University and graduated with a degree in elementary education. She taught at Hargrove Elementary School in Faison, NC and Charles E. Perry School in Roseboro, NC. She retired from teaching while working in the Clinton City School System.
As a member of Greater Six Runs Baptist Church, she dedicated many years to serving in the church. She served as an usher, usher advisor, vice president and president of the Kenansville Eastern Missionary Baptist Association Northern Division of Ushers. She also served and headed the Six Runs Church kitchen committee, sang in the Senior Choir and implemented programs such as the Senior Citizens Tea.
Her love and legacy will forever be cherished by her daughters, Alicia (Charles) Polen of Clermont, FL and Letitia Troublefield of Mt. Olive; four grandchildren, one sister, Mae Linda Parker of Clinton, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she has been reunited with two brothers, John Calvin Smtih and Herman Mack Smith, and also her husband, Reverend Harvey J. Troublefield.

Ms. Troublefield was my next door neighbor when I was a child and she saw everything. She was not afraid to tell my grandmother when we were misbehaving. Rest in peace Ma´am!
