Olga Dackowsky Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Smith Funeral Home - Sauquoit on Feb. 27, 2026.
Olga R. Dackowsky, age 95, of Cassville, NY, passed away on February 25, 2026, at Wynn Hospital.

She was born, October 29, 1930, in Mount Pleasant, NY, the daughter of Paul and Rose Krouch Palamarczyk. Olga was a graduate of Pleasantville High School class of 1948. Following graduation, she was employed at American Mutual Liability Insurance Co. for seven years, becoming head sales secretary and supervisor. In her leisure time, she enjoyed going to New York Yankee games, and taking trips to the New Jersey shore with her friends. Olga met and fell in love with John Dackowsky. The couple were married on July 16, 1955, and were married 57 years. After getting married, the newlyweds moved to Cassville to run the family dairy farm, Damadale Farms. At that time, Olga knew nothing of farming; but learned to milk cows, drive a tractor, and bail hay, among other things, while simultaneously raising four children. They sold the farm in 2003. John passed away November 25, 2012.

Olga was a dedicated mother and grandmother who cherished her grandchildren who lovingly called her "Baba" or "Bobbie". She devoted herself to her family. She made the best pierogis and homemade applesauce. Mrs. Dackowsky has been a member of the Cassville Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary since 1957, and a member of the Bridgewater Seniors. For the past 14 years, she has resided at The Meadows Senior Living, New Hartford, where she enjoyed time spent with many good friends.

She is survived by four children, Rosanne and Rich Grimaldi, John and Wanda Dackowsky, Michael Dackowsky, and James Dackowsky; grandchildren, Richard Grimaldi, Jr. (Ashley), Michael Grimaldi (Heather), Tanya Stefanski (Jay), John Dackowsky Jr. (Theresa Robertelli), Luke Dackowsky (Amanda), Rebekah Gehringer (Adam), Tatiana Partipelo (A.J.), Michael Dackowsky Jr., James Dackowsky Jr. (Jenna Maggiolino), Ashley Dackowsky, and Jessica Davis (Spencer); 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Paul Palamarczyk.

The family would like to acknowledge the special care offered by her niece Kathy Dobrzenski, and give a special thank you to Dave and Candy Nimey for their care and compassion.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial, on Tuesday, March 3 rd , at 11:00 a.m., at St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church, 3364 Oneida St., Chadwicks, NY. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Clayville, in the spring.
