Oliberto "Oliver" "Oliver" Negret

Oliberto "Oliver" Negret, age 86, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025. He was born on October 26, 1938, in Matanzas, Cuba, to parents Angela Diegues Camba and José Manuel Negret Gonzalez. He moved to Lakeland, Florida from Spain in 1978, and began a career as a design engineer at Davy McKee Corporation. His real passion was to become a jeweler, so he opened his first jewelry store in Lakeland in the early 1980's, where he continued making and selling beautiful pieces until he retired in 2004. He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Elgida Negret, daughters, Gledia Lovering and Eglis Vinson, and three beautiful granddaughters, Ansley, Aubrey and Emma. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
