Olin Arthur Daniel Sundby, 85, of Mountain Home, AR, formerly of Chetek, Wisconsin, passed away on April 1,2025 in Mountain Home. He was born in Colfax, Wisconsin on June 20,1939, to Arthur and Jessie (Fjelstad) Sundby.
Olin grew up and worked from an early age on the family farms. He married Shirley Dreysse on September 27, 1958. Olin, known to family and friends as "Ole" was a friend to all, an active member in the church, serving his Lord and Savior as a deacon. He worked for six decades in the construction industry. Ole sold his Chetek, Wisconsin construction company in 2004 and retired in Mountain Home, Arkansas. A short time later, he grew bored with retirement and went back into remodeling and handyman work in Mountain Home, retiring for a second time at age eighty-three.
Olin is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Shirley; two children, Julie (Don) Harrier, and Dan (Mary Joy) Sundby; six grandchildren, Will (Ashley) Morrison, Dustin (Cassie) Harrier, Meg (David) Shearin, Taaron Sundby, Kallie (Nick Harnish) Harrier, and Tyler Sundby; eleven great-grandchildren, and also by many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, Kenneth, Devonne, John and infant twins June and Donald.
A Memorial service will be held at Conner Family Funeral Home on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. The family would like to extend thanks to Hospice of the Ozarks for their loving care and kindness to Olin and the family. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Ozarks 811 Burnett Drive Mountain Home, AR 72653. Phone: (870) 508-1771 https://www.hospiceoftheozarks.org/ways-to-give

When I heard about Olin´s passing my immediate thoughts came back to the wonderful times I had with this family and my memories at Faith Baptist Church. What I always appreciated about Ole is that his faith was lived and that it was not something he put on display at certain times. He didn´t half to speak about who he was and he certainly was not a person who told others about things he did for people. Well after he and Shirley moved I would often see men that worked for him and they would express to me what a great guy he was to work for. I still drive by many of the homes that he built and remark "this is house that Ole built." However the best home he built was his family. Shirley, Julie, Dan......I love you all and I look forward to seeing your father and my friend in Heaven someday.
