Olin C. Trull, 91, passed away on February 9, 2026. He was born in Union County, son of the late J. Carlyle Trull and Bonnie H. Trull. Mr. Trull was a proud graduate of Unionville High School and N.C. State University with a degree in agricultural engineering. He worked at Powell Manufacturing Company for more than 30 years, where he managed the design and production of farm machinery and was awarded two patents on tobacco curing equipment. Mr. Trull also served in the U.S. Army Reserves for over nine years. A member of Benton’s Cross Roads Baptist Church, he served as Church Clerk, Deacon, and Sunday School teacher for many years.
Mr. Trull loved to travel. Together with his wife, he made a number of trips across the United States visiting all 50 states as well as multiple foreign countries.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00PM on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Benton’s Cross Roads Baptist Church, 109 E Lawyers Rd, Unionville, NC 28110, with burial to follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00PM until 2:45PM in the church fellowship hall.
Mr. Trull is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Janette H. Trull, and by three daughters: Janice Murphy (Dennis), Bonnie Bass (David) and Melanie Trull (Jack Fowler). Additional survivors include six grandchildren: Daniel Murphy (Natalie), David Murphy (Sasha), Lauren Murphy, Rachel Bass (Kevin Dynan), Jacob Bass, Sarah Bass (Michael Nattinger); eight great - grandchildren: Carter Murphy, Levi Murphy, Zoey Murphy, Maddison Murphy, Emily Murphy, Everett Murphy, Alaina Murphy, and Jack Dynan, as well as cherished extended family.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to a dedicated team of caregivers who enabled him to stay in his home.
