Mereness-Putnam Funeral HomeOlive R. Campbell, 94, of Lincoln Avenue, Cobleskill, NY, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at her home, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on February 23, 1932, in Greenfield Center, NY, she was the daughter of Paul Toman Sr. and Christina (Neznamy) Toman. She had been a resident of the Cobleskill area for the past 58 years, previously residing in Saratoga Springs and Ballston Spa.
On December 5, 1948, Olive married the love of her life, David F. Campbell in Saratoga, NY.
Olive was a homemaker for most of her life. She also worked at Stepping Stones Daycare in Cobleskill, NY.
She enjoyed reading, watching movies, and spending time with her family. She was a long-time follower of Christian Science and strongly believed that love was everything.
She was predeceased by her husband, David Campbell; her son, Lawrence Campbell; and her six siblings.
She is survived by her children, Michael Campbell of Milford, CT, Roberta Campbell- Fountain of Cobleskill, NY, Christian Campbell and his wife, Jennifer of Cobleskill, NY; her grandchildren, Jon Campbell, Margo Campbell, Rebecca Verdicchio, Sarah Campbell, Elizabeth Deming, Camille Hunt, Toman Gorsin, Jessie Campbell, Peter Campbell, Stephanie Arbour, and Cara Palmer; 24 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY 12043. Burial will take place in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Olive Campbell may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston MA 02114.
