Oliver F. Dittamo, Jr., 82, a longtime resident of Totowa passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

Born and raised in Paterson, Oliver moved to Totowa 45 years ago. Before his retirement, Oliver was the proud owner and operator of the Waldwick Barber Shop in Waldwick, N.J. A man of many talents, he also held a Master Plumber's License and served as a past President of the Passaic County Constables Association. His career with the Passaic County Parks Department began with humble roots and culminated in a distinguished tenure. He was the first appointed Foreman of the newly established Rifle Camp Park in Woodland Park and after 35 years of service, he retired as General Park Supervisor of the County Park System. Oliver was deeply committed to his community. He was a member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Francis O'Byrne Council 240 in Woodland Park and served as a Commissioner on the Totowa Board of Recreation.

He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Bea; his parents, Josephine and Professor Oliveiro Dittamo; and his sisters, Agnes Reichert and Edna Perna. Oliver is survived by his loving daughters, Renee Dent and her husband Patrick, and Cheryl Maguire and her husband Terry; devoted grandfather to Christopher Dent, Stephanie Delorenzis, Erika Kelly, and Shawn Maguire; and cherished great-grandfather to Cassen Dent, Hudson Delorenzis, Nash Kelly, Walker Delorenzis and Colton Kelly. He is also survived by his nephews, Paul and Richard Reichert.

Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 9:15 a.m. at Gaita Memorial Home, 154 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Little Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Pompei Church, Paterson with entombment to follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, May 26 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memories and condolences may be shared at gaitamh.com.
