OLIVER FREDERICK "FREDDIE" HEATH JR., husband of the late Mae Heath, entered into rest on April 7, 2025 at 88 years of age. He was born on March 2,1937 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Oliver Frederick and Mary McIlmoyle Heath. Mr. Heath was a 1961 graduate of Clemson Agriculture College and worked as an agronomist for Coker’s Pedigreed Seed Company in Hartsville, SC. He then worked for the USDA in the department of cotton research, where he later retired. He also served in the US Army Reserves from 1957 to 1963. Mr. Heath loved his church, Talatha Baptist Church, and was involved as a deacon, and sharing Christ wherever he went. Those who knew him, knew he was going to share the gospel and invite them to church. He is now in his heavenly home with his Lord, Jesus Christ and his wonderful wife.
Surviving are his sons, Wilton F. Heath and Thomas (Laurie) Heath of Aiken; a daughter, Mary Helen (Johnny) Cochran of Aiken; four grandchildren, Kimberlyn (Travis) Chambers, Jordan Gaskins, Jenna (Grant) Stanford, and David Cochran, all of Aiken; three step-granddaughters, Allison (Mark) Shaw, Taylor (Jared) Shuler and Jennah (Jesse) Hammonds; six great grandchildren, Langston, Lyles, Liam, Tucker, Kash and Lane.
The family would like to thank the staff of Trinity on Laurens for the wonderful care Mr. Heath received.
The family will receive friends Saturday morning, April 12th beginning at 10 o'clock at Talatha Baptist Church.
The funeral service will follow at 11 o'clock in the church with The Rev. Jordan Bird officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Talatha Baptist Church's Building Fund, 361 Talatha Church Rd., Aiken, SC 29803.
