Obituary For Oliver James Tolbert
Carter Funeral Home announces the transition of Mr. Oliver James Tolbert at the age of 71.
Mr. Tolbert, a quiet fixture in our community well known for his skill as an auto mechanic, passed away Monday, September 25, 2023, at his residence in Midway, AL.
The Farewell Memorial Celebration will be held Sunday, October 15, 2023, at 2:00 pm from the churchyard of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Union Springs.
Pastor James N. Robbins, Sr. will deliver the message of comfort.

Oliver James Tolbert was born to Velma Thornton and Andrew Tolbert in Tuskegee, Alabama on May 19, 1952. He grew up in Midway, Alabama. Oliver departed this life on September 25, 2023, at the age of 71.
A skilled automobile mechanic and a photography enthusiast, Oliver attended Bullock County High School in Union Springs, Alabama. He was a dedicated member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother Velma Thornton, father Andrew Tolbert Sr, brother Andrew Tolbert, Jr, and sister, Norcleather Tolbert.
Oliver leaves to cherish his memories: his brother, Robert Tolbert, Midway, Alabama; children, Calvin Andre Johnson, Midway, Alabama; Ronald L Johnson, Midway, Alabama; Antonio Beachem, Midway, Alabama; Patrice Beachem, Midway, Alabama, Shanetta Williams, Rochester, NY;
six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
