Olivia Cuellar

Olivia Trevino Cuellar (88) was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. On Thursday, March 17th, 2022, she left this world to spend eternity with the Lord. She was born to Juan Herrera and Maria Garza Herrera on April 29, 1933 in Bishop, Texas. Olivia grew up in Texas and this is where she met and married her husband, Victor Cuellar. Shortly after they made the move to Lynden, Washington. Together they had 6 children; Rosie Herrera, Maggie Lopez, Gracie Thornton, Sally Cuellar, Victor (J.V.) Cuellar Jr, and Annette Doyle.

Olivia was strong activist in the Whatcom County working alongside the Mayor to help create better working conditions for Latin American immigrants. After she entered retirement, she spent her days cooking delicious meals for family and friends. Olivia also spent her time crafting and sewing beautiful quilts and other projects. She enjoyed her final years in Bellingham, Washington with her husband and spending time spoiling all of her grandchildren. Olivia was able to find a friend in anyone she met. She enjoyed nothing more than getting the chance to just sit down and share the stories of her life. She had the most contagious laugh and smile. Olivia had such a warm and generous soul.

Olivia was preceded in death by her parents, Juan Herrera and Maria Garza Herrera, her children, Rosie Herrera, Sally Cuellar and Annette Doyle. She is survived by her husband Victor Cuellar, children, Maggie Cuellar, Gracie Thornton, Victor (J.V.) Cuellar Jr., and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and grandchildren. Olivia will be missed by so many, but her love will shine bright through all of those who she has impacted.

At this time, there is no memorial service scheduled. The family will notify loved ones if something is scheduled in the future.
