It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sylvia Martha Cuellar, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, who departed this life on January 23, 2026, at the age of 70. Born on September 21, 1955, in Sacramento, California to Eleazar Escamilla & Juanita Villarreal Sylvia's journey was marked by her strength, compassion, and unwavering spirit.
She is preceded in death by her father, Eleazar Escamilla.
She is survived by her husband, Frank A. Cuellar whom she created a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories; her loving sons, David Omar Cuellar (Victoria Rebecca), Steven Martin Cuellar (Clara Crystal); her mother, Juanita Escamilla; three brothers, Carlos Escamilla, Danny Escamilla, Hector Escamilla and one sister, Ana Escamilla. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Miranda Cuellar, Harley Cuellar, Beau Cuellar, Landon Cuellar, Laila Cuellar, Madalynn Cuellar, Steven Riley Cuellar and one great-grandson, Haxton Garcia Cuellar.
In celebration of her remarkable life, family and friends are invited to gather for a Memorial Service honoring Sylvia at Salinas Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of Grace, on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 3:00 PM -9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM. A Funeral Mass in her memory will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 30, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Donna, TX.
As we reflect on the life of Sylvia Martha Cuellar, we celebrate her kindness, her laughter, and her unwavering spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will forever live in the hearts of those who had the honor of knowing her. May her memory be a blessing and a source of inspiration for all.
