Olivia Merryman Obituary

Olivia H. Merryman of Whiteford, MD, died February 21, 2025 at the age of 91. She is with her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. She was born in Vicksburg, MS, on October 25, 1933. She joined the Woman's Army Corp, and her first duty station was in Oakland, CA. The handsome man training her to replace him was George

Merryman. They were married 32 days after meeting and for 58 years. Six children were born to them: Jeffrey B., Victoria F., Roseanna L., Daniel G., Connie M., & Samuel C. Her daughter, Roseanna died in July of 1989.

Olivia was blessed with 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She is survived by a sister, Eulalia Hallman of Irving, TX and a sister-in-law, Jean Hallman of Brandon, MS, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, George, sister, Mary Frances Hilton and brother, Robin Hallman.

Services are as follows: Thursday, February 27, at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, 3135 Dublin Road, Street, MD. Viewing 10am -12pm, funeral service from 12pm – 1pm. with Reverend Tracy Duvall officiating Interment at Bel Air Memorial Gardens with military honors presented by the United States Army Honor Guard. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons: George III and Jeffrey Merryman, Jesse and Jake Robbins, Matthew and Christian Merryman. Her family would appreciate memorial contributions to Harford Christian School, 1736 Whiteford Road, Darlington, MD 21034. Harkins Funeral Home has been entrusted with her arrangements.
