Ollie V Jones Coggins, 87, of the Pine Creek Community, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother went to her heavenly home on December 19, 2024. 

She was born December 11, 1937, in Jackson County to Norman and Georgia Creasman Jones.She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 45 years, Claude Wilburn Coggins; sons Clarence Wilburn, Michael “Mikey” Avery, Norman Lee and Johnny Wayne; and 10 siblings. She is survived by her children Carleen Dillard (Bruce) of Cashiers, Greg Coggins of Glenville, and Tammie Pressley (Jim) of Cullowhee; grandchildren Jody Dillard (Selina) and Tiffany LaFontaine (Ryan) of Fletcher, Courtney and Anna Coggins of Cashiers; Leigh Coggins of Sapphire; Amanda Allen (Jordan) of Sylva; Megan Coggins of Charleson, SC, and Summer Compton of Southern Pines; great-grandchildren Miley Coggins of Cashiers and Ransom Allen of Sylva; and sister Vergie Bishop of Old Fort.

The family will receive friends at Appalachian Funeral Home at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 23 with a service to follow at 2. The Rev. Eddie Stillwell will officiate. Ollie will be buried at Pine Creek Baptist cemetery. Pall bearers will include Jordan Allen, David Dillard, Robert Dillard, Dwayne Dillard, Jim Mull, and Chris Queen.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to the Glenville Cashiers Rescue Squad at 79 North Norton Road Cashiers, NC 28717.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Appalachian Funeral Services.
