Ollie Ford Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mrs. J.W. Jones Memorial Chapel on Dec. 4, 2025.
Mrs. Ollie L. Ford, 85, of Kansas City, KS, passed away on November 8, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her son, grandson, and sister. She was born in Oak Ridge, LA, on March 27, 1940, the first daughter of David and Jannie Doyal.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who was cherished by everyone she met along the way. Mrs. Ford was devoted to her church home, New Bethel of Kansas City, KS, where she served faithfully until the arrival of COVID. During that time, her health began to decline, yet through all her trials and tribulations she never wavered in her faith in God. She remained steadfast until the day He called her home.
Ollie grew up in Argentine in Kansas City, KS, where she attended Lincoln Elementary and Argentine High School. She later moved to Belrose Manor in Rosedale and eventually to Saint Margaret's. Mrs. Ford worked at the Carriage Club in Kansas City, MO, where she fulfilled her passion as a head cook. She was also a talented seamstress and held various other jobs throughout her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Ford Jr.; her parents, David Sr. and Jannie Doyal; her son, Darryl W. Johnson Sr.; four brothers, David Doyal Jr., Andrew Doyal, Eddie Doyal, and Leslie Doyal; her sister, Rosie McNealey; and her great-granddaughter, Denise Johnson.
Ollie leaves to cherish her memory her son, Eugene Doyal; her grandson, Darryl Johnson Jr.; and her great-grandchildren, DeAnthony, Avery, and Nevaeh. She is also survived by her sister, Edda Doyal, and her two brothers, Samuel Doyal Sr. and Hosie (Peggy) Doyal, all of Kansas City, KS. In addition, she is survived by her sister-in-law, Polly Mae Doyal of Grandview, MO, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is further survived by her sister through Christ, Elder Virginia Johnson, and the prayer intercessors, who held a special place in her heart.
