Omar was born December 05, 1959 in Odessa, Texas to Blanca Canton and Raymond Galindo. He was raised in Odessa as the youngest in a household of seven siblings. His childhood in Odessa was filled with a love for the outdoors, where he spent countless hours playing soccer and football. Omar was a faithful member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church where he was also an alter boy. He even loved playing pretend “church” at home with his siblings, often reenacting the Eucharist.

His passion for cars began early. His first car, a yellow Volkswagen Beetle, started as a junker until he restored it himself, sparking a lifelong interest in automobiles and car shows. After football practice he would help his mother in the kitchen to cook dinner which led him to later be an excellent cook when he had his own family, passing down beloved thanksgiving recipes.

He graduated from Ector High School where he participated in marching band as a trumpet player and eventually earned the role of drum major. He excelled in math and science studies which would eventually steer him toward a career that relied heavily on computer coding.

He attended Angelo State University in the heart of West Texas, where he worked full-time in the restaurant industry to support himself while earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics. This foundation propelled him to a successful career where he worked at Mary Kay corporate office for 21 years in the organization's supply chain operations.

He was a devoted father, almost never missing his daughters’ soccer games, even serving as an assistant coach for their recreational teams and enthusiastically cheering them on through select and high school soccer. He was dedicated to his family, and lovingly cared for his wife during her battle with cancer.

He enjoyed deer, pheasant and duck hunting, as well as fishing, attending car shows, and spending time with friends at poker nights. Omar was always willing to lend a hand, helping friends, and even strangers, whenever they were in need.

Omar is survived by his daughters Natalie and Noelle Galindo; siblings: Tony Galindo, Augustine Galindo, Victor Galindo, and Naomi Galindo and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews who are heartbroken of his passing and will miss him always.
