Opal Annie Henegar passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025. She was born on December 8, 1941, to the late Aldon and Eunice Jones.
She was a lifelong resident of Hardee County. She graduated from Hardee High School in 1959. She was a member of Lake Dale Baptist Church in Wauchula. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Hardee County Property Appraisers office and Wauchula State Bank.
Her favorite hobbies were cooking, nature, animals, reading, politics, history,geography and caring for her family and others.
Her family will remember her as being the matriarch of the family, she always put family first.
She is survived by her children Mitzi Powell of Wauchula, Fl, Tereas Boland of Tampa, Fl Amy (John) Valenta of Marianna, Fl. Grandchildren, Marina Djordjevic, Miranda Powell Robertson, Charlie Powell and Rebecca Prillwitz. Great grandchildren, Nico Djordjevic, Parker Robertson and Grady Robertson. She also had 8 nephews and 6 nieces.
Memorial Contribution (In lieu of flowers) may be made to Hardee Animal Rescue Team, Shriners Hospital for Children and St. Jude’s for children.
She is preceded in death by her husband Sonny Henegar, daughter, Gayle Henegar, sisters, Ruth Hammermeister, Patricia Driskell and brothers, Phillip Jones and Morris Jones and grandchild, Jesse Gerard.
Graveside services will be Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Lake Dale Baptist Church at 10:00am 3102 Heard Bridge Road Wauchula, Fl.
