Opal LaVerne (Clark) Lane, 65 was born in Hugo, Oklahoma on July 21, 1959, the daughter of Walter Henson Clark and Virginia Dorothy (Meyer) Clark. Opal was a graduate of Hugo High School, Class of 1977 and was a lifelong resident of Choctaw County. Opal worked as a home health aide for many years and later as a Head Start Teacher. She loved her chickens, turkeys, rabbits and cats and was heavily involved in the community. Opal was strong willed and wasn't afraid to voice her opinion when necessary. She was her grandchildren's greatest advocate, and she devoted countless hours to helping them succeed in their endeavors. Opal was a member of Kent Baptist Church and loved the Lord. Her passing has left a void in the lives of her family and friends, but they will always carry her memory in their hearts.
Opal is survived by her beloved husband, Bobby Lane of the home; son, Bobby Joe Lane, Jr of Speer, OK; daughter, Shelly Lane of Speer, OK; grandchildren, Malik Mitchell, Cortrell Mitchell, Shalee Mitchell, Alexis O'Neal, Jacob Nichols and Micah Dunnigan; 2 great grandchildren; brothers, Stanley Clark of Speer, OK and John Clark of Honobia, OK; sister, Linna Bell of Antlers, OK along with a host of friends, family and loved ones.
