Ora Lee Barefoot

Benson, NC: Mrs. Ora Lee Tart Barefoot, age 88, of 780 Godwin Lake Road died Wednesday at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM Sunday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel, Benson.  Officiating will be Revs. Michael Bassett and Ronnie LaFevers. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.Mrs. Barefoot was born January 27, 1929 in Johnston County to the late Thaddeus and Anna Tart.  She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Hobert L. Barefoot and William "Bill" Rose; grandson, DeWayne Brantley Barefoot; daughter-in-law, Linda Medlin Barefoot; brothers, Nathan Tart and Garland Tart; sisters, Lola T. Parker, Vada T. Marlin, Ada T. Arhar, Vira T. Smith and Georgia T. Evans.  Mrs. Barefoot was a seamstress, farmer, and homemaker. She was a member of the Meadow Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for twenty-three years. Mrs. Barefoot was the community appointed Mayor of Meadow and a member of Holly Grove Advent Christian Church where she served in many capacities.Surviving include her children and spouses, Wayne L. and Gayle Barefoot of Four Oaks, H. Glenn and Wanda Barefoot of Benson, Sylvia and Macon Stafford of Benson; seven grandchildren, Adam Barefoot, Leane Daughtry, Russell Barefoot, Nathan Stafford, Brantley Stafford, Benjamin Stafford and Tom McMillon; five great- grandchildren, Lexi Barefoot, Evan and Isaac Barefoot, Luke and Thad Daughtry and Ethan McMillon; sister, Reba T. Phipps of Charlotte; sister-in-law, Bessie T. Cox of Benson; several nieces and nephews and special friend, Jenny Cat.The family will receive friends Saturday 6:00PM-8:00PM at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home.Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Meadow Fire Department, 7409 NC Hwy 50 South, Benson, NC 27504 or Holly Grove Advent Christian Church, 2050 Holly Grove Rd, Benson, NC 27504.Service Information
