Oretha W. Wiliams was born on December 9, 1947 in Mcintosh, GA. She was the eighth of twelve children to Dan and Anna (Walthour) Williams. She graduated from Liberty County High School in 1966 with hopes of becoming an English teacher. When plans changed she moved to Brooklyn, NY.
Oretha stayed with her two eldest brothers, Samuel and Albert Williams, while she gained employment at General Motors. It was there that she met Charles Brown, with whom she later joined in holy matrimony. In 1969, at a revival at Kelly's Temple in New York, she and her sister, Nancy, gave their lives to the Lord. In 1971 Charles and Oretha's daughter, Pamela Marie Brown, was born. After Charles and Oretha went their separate ways, she and Pamela moved back home with her parents in Midway, GA.
Oretha found a love for entrepreneurship, of which she sold Avon for over 20 years. She enjoyed going door to door saying the slogan "Avon Calling". With her desire for change she moved to Coatesville, PA. It is there that she began working as an Administrative Assistant for The Coatesville Veteran Affairs Medical Center. She also began working as a Med Tech at Bellingham Assisted Living. She eventually retired as a Home Health Care Nursing Assistant. Oretha would later marry Charles Williams, with whom she was a dedicated wife. They enjoyed going to church and traveling until his passing in 2013. After the transition of Charles, Oretha longed to be closer to her siblings; in 2015 she moved back home to Georgia. Through it all she continued to serve the LORD, and in 2018 was voted Mother Of the Year for Freedmen Grove New Church of Christ.
Oretha had a love for watching basketball and was an OKC fan. She loved to sing, and enjoyed things like going to gospel concerts and trying new restaurants. Oretha was a powerful matriarch. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. The kind who never missed an appointment, school function, achievement, or birthday. She will be deeply missed.
On Saturday evening, May 10, 2025 Oretha answered the call of the Father to go home on the other side. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 10 of her siblings. Mother Williams leaves dear memories to be cherished by her daughter Pamela (Paris) Olinick of Allenhurst, GA. Three Grandchildren: Kiara (Blanche) Brown of Downingtown, PA., Fontel F Toland II of Honeybrook, PA, and Asia Toland of Allenhurst, GA. Three Great Grandchildren: Faith Toland, Fontel Toland Ill, and Soriyah Ford. One brother Peter Williams of Miami, FL and one sister Nancy Steven of Brooklyn, NY. A host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Close Relatives, and Friends.
