Obituary for Ormia N. Williams

In Loving Memory of Ormia Nahomie Williams

Faithful Servant, Devoted Mother, Cherished Friend

It is with deep love and gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passingof Ormia Williams, a devoted woman of God, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Born in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Ormia later migrated to Trinidad and Tobago, where her spiritual journey deepened and her walk with Christ flourished. It was in the late 1970s that Ormia met the love of her life. Following his migration to the United States, Ormia joined him in Boston, Massachusetts, where they were united in holy matrimony. From this beautiful union with her late husband Winston Niles, two children were born.

Ormia was a woman of unshakable faith, resilience, and love. Her life was a testament to service and dedication-not only to her family but to her church and community. A long-time member of the Hyde Park Seventh Day Adventist Church she was active in the Majestic Choir, she also faithfully served as a deaconess, and usher. She was known for her gentle spirit, her signature glasses perched on her nose as she read her beloved Bible-her favorite verse being Psalm 27, a passage that gave her strength and hope throughout her life.

An active and passionate member of the Mezuza Pathfinder Club, Ormia embodied the spirit of enthusiasm and leadership. She never missed the beat of the Pathfinder drums-often stopping mid-conversation or meal to joyfully join the march or dance. She rose through the Pathfinder ranks from the Friend Class to proudly earning the title of Master Guide, a distinction she wore with great pride. Her final wish was to be laid to rest in her full Pathfinder uniform, a symbol of her lifelong commitment to service and faith, until the day she is clothed in her heavenly robe and reunited with her Lord and Savior.

Professionally, Ormia served with dedication at Lemuel Shattuck Hospital from the early 70's where she worked until her retirement. Her work ethic, compassion, and elegance touched many lives.

Ormia had a timeless sense of style-always immaculately dressed for every church function and banquet, complete with matching shoes and handbag. She was the embodiment of grace and glamour-our very own fashion queen.

She was also a phenomenal cook, best known for her delicious Sabbath lunches and her unforgettable pone, which will be missed by all who had the joy of tasting it.

Ormia was preceded in death by her beloved husband Winston Niles and four of her treasured children. She is survived by her loving daughter Patricia Peters and son Leopold Williams, as well as her cherished grandchildren: Denise, Elizabeth,Simone, Kyron, Dara, and Naomi. Her legacy lives on through her great- grandchildren Emmie, Timothy, and Frankie, and her precious great-great- granddaughter Ellie.

To know Ormia was to be blessed by her wisdom, encouraged by her counsel, and uplifted by her joyful spirit. Whether she was singing with the choir, dancing her heels, marching to the beat of the Pathfinder drums, or sharing words of comfort and truth, Ormia embodied a life of faith, dignity, and love.

We will forever remember her vibrant presence, her unwavering trust in God's promises, and the light she brought into the lives of so many.

"The Lord is my light and my salvation-whom shall I fear?" – Psalm 27:1

Rest in peace, our beloved Ormia. You fought the good fight, you kept the faith, and now, you have received your crown of righteousness.
