Orson William Johnson was born November 8, 1922 and passed away peacefully on January 12, 2024.
Orson was born in a small cabin in Dry Fork Canyon to Quince Dewitt Johnson and Chloe Maria Hall Johnson. Orson was born 5th of 10 children. He lived on the Thoroughbred Ranch until the age of 5 when the family moved down the creek to the place Orson spent the rest of his wonderful life. Other than one summer Orson went to the Bookcliffs to work for his Uncle Vee.
Orson graduated from Alterra High School in 1940. Orson never married and was only interested in raising cows and grass hay. Most believe this is why he was always smiling.
Orson was an honest, loyal, and fair man. He was cherished by many nieces and nephews, and very respected by his fellow cattlemen and cowboys.
He is survived by Ralph and Artis Johnson, Loyal and Erleen Johnson, brother-in-law Gale Christensen.
He is preceded in death by his parents Quince and Chloe Johnson, sisters, Mabel (Stan) Nebeker, Ivy Scilley, Stella (Jim) Harmston, Nelda Christensen, brothers, Eldon "Jiggs"(Clifta) Johnson, Iowa Dean (Clifta) Johnson, and Larry (Judy) Johnson.
