MANILA - Orville Dwight Booth, 79, of Manila, passed from this life Monday, April 21, 2025, at the Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. Born in Caraway to the late Orville Millard and Audrey Wallace Booth, he was a 1964 graduate of Caraway Central High School and later attended Arkansas State University and Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill.
He had lived in Alton, Ill., for several years and worked as a mechanical engineer for McDonnell Douglas and later moved to Webster, Texas and worked for NASA in Houston. Dwight returned to Arkansas in the early 1970's and had lived in Manila since 1993 where he served as the caretaker for the Manila Cemetery. He was a longtime member of the Manila Lion's Club, the Caraway Community of Christ Church, and the Caraway Chapter of Celebrate Recovery.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Chipman Booth; two sisters, Mildred McMillan and Brenda Booth; and two brothers, Billy Booth and Bobby Booth.
Survivors include two sons, John Booth (Stacie) and Dwight Booth (Christy), all of Caraway; two daughters, Debbie Dunigan (Danny) of Lake City and Audrey Crump (Adam) of Marianna; one brother, Arthur Booth (Peggy) of Weiner. He also leaves 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be today, at 11 a.m., at the Community of Christ Church in Caraway with The Reverend Gary Earnhart officiating. Burial will follow in the Caraway Cemetery. The family received visitors from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m., on Wednesday, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila.
