Oscar Kerney Eason, Jr, age 77, passed away on Jan 18, 2026 at Rex Hospital, surrounded by his family. Parrish Funeral Home in Selma will handle the arrangements. Kerney was born on June 27, 1948 in Zebulon, NC to the late Oscar Kerney Eason, Sr. and the late Elsie Johnson Eason. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Pittman Eason.

The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home on Thursday January 22, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM. Burial will be held in Selma Memorial Gardens following the service.

Kerney enjoyed traveling on his RV, riding his Harley and Gold Wing motorcycles with his two brothers, especially in the mountains. He loved his woodworking and made numerous gifts for his family and friends. Kerney enjoyed spending time with his 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way. Kerney had a very special relationship with grandson, Bradley Eason (Landy). Bradley was always taking care of his Pa and Kerney was so proud of him. Kerney found happiness and love with his companion, Pat Joyner in the last several years. One of Kerney's greatest enjoyments was going to Alaska with Pat to enjoy one of his favorite pastimes, fishing. Kerney was Chapter Director of Wingmasters Motorcycle Club. organized charity events which included Oberry Hospital, Chili cookoffs, weekend event in Mrytle Beach annually and motorcycle charity rides.

Surviving are his children, son, James Kerney Eason (Cellie) and daughter, Tonya Eason Donithan (Chris). Kerney is also survived by his loving brothers and sisters: LaRue Eason Massey, J.M. Eason (Patricia), Wade Eason (Donna) and Judith Eason Pate. Also, numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends too many to name.
