Oscar O. Munoz Sr.

Oscar O. Munoz, Sr., passed away on January 30, 2026, at the age of 78. He was born in Villanueva Cortes, Honduras to the late Chon and Justina Munoz, on Augst 7, 1947.

Oscar was a humble man, who loved the sea. He was a hard worker and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Oscar is survived by his wife, Marta L. Munoz. Father of Jessica Munoz Verrette, Lucia Castellanos, Veronica Munoz, Kristyna Munoz, Oscar O. Munoz, Jr., Jorge Munoz, and Josue Aguilar. Brother of Concepcion M. Amaya and Cesar Munoz. Grandfather of Sarah Adkins, Casey Carpenter, Ryan Munoz, Brandi Chausse, Timmy Bateson, Ashley Flores, Daniel Castro, and Oscar Castro. Great grandfather of Sadie Chausse, Olive Adkins, Alba Carpenter, Lucy Adkins, Jordyn Carpenter, Truett Adkins and Eliza Chausse. Father-in-law of Kenneth Verrette, Jose Castro, and Renee M. Munoz.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA, followed by a mass at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at St. Louis Cemetery No. 3.
