Oscar Pressel passed away on February 26, 2025, at the age of 75. He was born in Farmville, Virginia on May 15, 1949. After retiring, he moved to Bellville, Texas to be near his son and grandson and came to love Texas but his roots were in Virginia on the family farm.
Oscar put himself through college and graduate school where he earned a Master of Science in Accounting. He became a Certified Public Accountant and worked first as a comptroller for small businesses and later in his own accounting practice.
Oscar’s life centered around his commitment to God, family, and country. He was known for his integrity, generosity and humor by all who knew him.
Oscar was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed the fellowship. He was an avid fisherman and particularly enjoyed fishing with his sons, grandson and brothers. He also enjoyed gardening and hunting.
Oscar is survived by his wife of 45 years, Bernadette Pressel, and his sons Matt (Kellie) of Bellville, Texas, and Bartlo (Nithya) of Crownsville, Maryland. He truly loved being a grandfather to Ross Pressel and Aria Dora Pressel.
Oscar is also survived by his Uncle Teddy Jarck, his Aunt Shelby Jarck and Aunt Frances Jarck, his brothers Thomas (Leah) Pressel, John (Vickie) Pressel and Paul (Marie) Pressel and his sisters Ruby Thurston and Margaret Bailey along with numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, S. Ross and Grace Pressel.
Pallbearers are Matthew Pressel, Bart Pressel, Ross Pressel, Paul Pressel, Paul Needham, and Michael Needham.
