Oscar Maximo Diaz Rivadeneyra, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025. Born on March 26, 1946, in the beautiful country of Peru, Oscar's journey led him to touch many lives with his wisdom and thoughtfulness.
Oscar's life was marked by his adventurous spirit and his pursuit of the American dream, which he realized when he arrived in the United States on Christmas Eve of 1980. Settling initially in Paterson, New Jersey, he quickly became a beloved member of the community. His later years saw him exploring new horizons, living in California and Florida, before finally making his home in Clifton.
Throughout his life, Oscar was a dedicated machine operator at General Trading Company in Carlstadt, where he was known for his strong work ethic and his ability to brighten the days of his colleagues. His commitment to his work was only surpassed by his devotion to his family.
Oscar's legacy is carried on by his loving wife, Emilia Diaz, and their four sons: Oscar Diaz, Paul Diaz and his wife Omaria, Richard Diaz and his wife Betsy, and Omar Diaz and his wife Cara. His eight grandchildren, Cecilia, Emily, Christopher, Isabella, Mila, Lucas, Atavia and Nadia, who brought immense joy and pride to his life, will forever cherish the memories of their grandfather's love and guidance.
A man of many interests, Oscar never missed an opportunity to engage his mind, whether through the pages of a good book or the challenge of a crossword puzzle. His passion for knowledge was matched by his commitment to health, as he enjoyed regular exercise, understanding the importance of a sound body and mind.
Oscar's character was the epitome of thoughtfulness and wisdom, traits that he imparted to all who knew him. His advice was sought after, his presence calming, and his ability to listen without judgment was a comfort to many.
As we bid farewell to Oscar, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey well-traveled, and a man well-loved.
