Oscar L. Spencer, Jr., aged 58, passed away on July 2nd, 2025 in Margate, Florida. Born on September 7th, 1966, in Fort Lauderdale, FL to his loving parents (preceded in death), Oscar L. Spencer, Sr. and Florence Louise Spencer.

He grew up in a close family with four siblings, Elana Cobb, Sebastian Maurice Spencer (preceded in death), Eric Spencer, and Sonya Spencer. Mr. Spencer was a graduate of Boyd Anderson High School, where he played football as a defensive lineman.

He also attended DeVry University in Atlanta, Georgia before completing his Associates at Broward College in Davie, Florida. As a veteran of the U.S. Navy, Oscar served his country with honor and integrity, including service in Operation Desert Storm of the Gulf War. After his military career, he continued to work as a hydraulic mechanic for 30 years before retiring as a notable manager.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Ertha L. Spencer, and his children, Oscar L. Spencer III (son), Ayanna De'Vante Maddox (daughter), Cole F. Maddox (son-in-law), and dog-son, Prince. As a family-oriented man, Oscar was a dependable, encouraging, and loving husband and father. Oscar's legacy is one of integrity, duty, humor, and love. You could find him dropping car trivia during a show on MotorTrend, quoting a Friday Movie, enjoying a Heat basketball game, or cooking the best dishes for his family. He will forever be remembered for his service, commitment to his family, sense of humor, intelligence, and quiet strength.
