James Danie Spencer Jr., aged 70, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his residence on November 19, 2024. Born on August 4, 1954, in McDowell County, Jr. was cherished by those who knew him for his big heart and delightful sense of humor. He was always happy and smiling, bringing joy to his family and friends.
Jr. was a passionate collector of old money and coins, a hobby that showcased his love for history. He found great pleasure in watching wildlife, often taking time to appreciate the beauty of nature around him. Cooking was another of Jr. passions, where he created meals that brought people together, as he deeply loved his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Kim Greer, and his sister, Terry Jo Lowery. Jr. is preceded in death by his parents Carolyn and Dan Spencer; brother, Henry Spencer, and his sisters, Doris Spencer and Kaye Pokrzywa.
The visitation will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Mountain Creek Independent Baptist Church, located at 2232 Bethel Church Rd, Marion, NC 28752, followed by a funeral service starting at 5:00 PM.
James Danie Spencer Jr. leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
