Oscar Vecellio, Jr., 88, of Beckley, West Virginia, peacefully passed away on October 28, 2025.
Born on November 6, 1936, in Itmann, West Virginia, he was the beloved son of the late Oscar Vecellio, Sr. and Josephine Monti Vecellio. Oscar was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Lois; his daughter, Lori; and his sisters: Lena Nekoranec, Lillian Massinople, Clara Bergstrom, and Adeline Wuslich.
Oscar's education included attendance at St. Bernard’s Preparatory School in Cullman, Alabama. He dedicated much of his life to his family’s construction business, which played a significant role in shaping the infrastructure of central and southern West Virginia. A lifelong member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Oscar was also a longstanding member of the Mt. Hope Lions Club and previously associated with the Beckley Gun Club. He took great pride in volunteering his time to support those in need and found immense joy in spending quality time with his family and lifelong friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Lee Ann Vecellio; his niece, Anna Maria Nekoranec, along with her husband, Bingt Neibhr, and their daughters, Chloe and Sofie; as well as numerous cousins, including Vicki and Randy Lickliter and daughters, David Vecellio and family, Joseph Hungate and family, Sue Hungate and daughter Natalie, Ann Clabough, and sister-in-law, Sarah Bray. Additionally, he holds dear ties with his cousins in Auronzo, Italy.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Calfee Funeral Home, followed by services at 12 p.m. at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, officiated by Father Leonard Smith.
