Oscar Villarreal Obituary
Oscar was born on June 10, 1936, in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to his parents Jesus Villarreal and Victoria Garza. He was the eldest of his siblings and spent his youth in Texas, eventually moving to Watsonville. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Union for over 25 years.
His hobbies included going to the horse races, watching Western movies, and the Dallas Cowboys. His favorite hobby was being a baseball fan, and boy, did he love the Dodgers! Above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially watching his great-grandchildren play ball.
Oscar is survived by his son, Oscar (Norma) Villarreal Jr., his brother, Alfredo Villarreal, and his stepchildren, Vincent Sandoval, and Debbie (Ralph) Serrano. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Oscar III, Christian, Danita, Celeste, Julie Gonzales, and Louis Salazar, his great-grandchildren, Kendall, Kalena, Avani, Ariana, RJ, Jordan, Aahron, and Ryan, as well as numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Katherine Villarreal.
A viewing and rosary will be held at Mehl's Colonial Chapel on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with the rosary starting at 7:00 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Help of Christians Church on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 10:00 am with burial to follow at Valley Public Cemetery.
