It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ouida Elvira Willmon, beloved mother, grannie, and friend, who left this world peacefully in her home of 66 years, on March 19, 2025, at the age of 98.
Ouida was born on April 30, 1926, on a farm in Mitchell County to OP “Pack” Blair and Roberta Annlee Bennett Blair. She married Edward Lee Willmon on September 12, 1944, in Odessa, Texas.
Ouida was known for her exceptional cooking and baking skills. And especially remembered for her hot rolls. She was still baking cookies weeks prior to her passing. A devoted homemaker, she nurtured not only her household but also her passion for gardening. Her yard was a vibrant testament to her love for nature, adorned with numerous rose bushes that flourished under her care.
After Ed’s retirement they traveled in their motor home taking pictures and visiting every courthouse in the state of Texas. If they weren’t on the road then you could find them at the lake house on Colorado City Lake. Many memories were made at the lake house, fishing, swinging on the porch, or at one of the many years of “Blair Family reunions.”
In more current years, she was a devoted Texas Rangers fan. She was sure excited to witness her Rangers win the World Series. (Even if her grandson, Wayne, wasn’t)
Ouida is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lee Willmon; her parents, her 3 sisters, 4 brothers, and 1 great-grandson.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Ann Rogers; and her son, Gary Willmon and wife, Nancy; her grandchildren, Michael Willmon (Lisa), Wayne Willmon (Missy), David Rogers (Rochelle), Julie Flores (Steve), Mark Trent (Rhonda), and Christi Reddick; 16 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren (with one more on the way); numerous nephews and nieces. She was also blessed with Calvin Street neighbors; both current and past. Her neighbors were not only friends but family too!!
A visitation is scheduled from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harkey Funeral Home. A Funeral service to honor Ouida's life will be held on March 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church with Jeppie Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers are as follows: Michael Willmon, Wayne Willmon, Mark Trent, David Rogers, Forrest Willmon, Tyson Willmon, Camron Rogers, and Brad Trent.
Honorary Pallbearers are as follows: Steve Flores, Grant Thomason, Sawyer McGuire, Tyler Wellborn, Dave Rogers, and Terry Robnett.
